How can I get my child more interested in academics? It’s a fairly common question. As parents, we want to make sure that our children are engaged and achieving. Sometimes, though, no matter how hard we try to help (or push) them to work a little harder, they seem to remain disengaged.
One of the most concerning causes? Kids today are stressed. Research shows that more and more children, and at younger ages, are dealing with anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, this stress can manifest in disengagement. (And at least one study shows that stress can carry over and cause students to be disengaged even in college.)
While there are many factors that contribute, one cause of that stress is school. Kids are expected to process more information and then are pressured to perform on end-of-year assessments. In addition to those academic expectations, they are living in a world where technology means they are often operating on information overload.
The question of how to help kids disengage from the stress and engage with learning is an important one. And we have an answer that can help. Let them engage with fun.
At a Bricks 4 Kidz® class or camp, your child can step away from the worries that come with school work and just have fun learning. Our classes and camps deliver high quality educational play where kids learn concepts that span a variety of subject areas. At the same time, kids are partnering with others as they develop and expand their imaginations. Even more importantly, kids can learn and explore in a safe, enriching environment.
